Sienna Mercato *Italian hand gesture*

Update 12.8.17:

First of all, thanks to everyone who corrected me that it is actually Sienna MercaTo ( not Mercado). OH WAIT NO ONE DID. This is why we proofread, people. Anyway, my bad, please forgive my misspelling and in return take this amazing update to happy hour at Sienna MercaTo.

Not only is there now a BRAND NEW happy hour at Mezzo, the second floor restaurant, but there is also a bitchin’ $5 happy hour at Il Tetto (the rooftop bar that is hella cool). $5 select craft drafts. $5 highballs. $5 bar snacks. $5 house wines. $5 frozen cocktails. (If you didn’t catch that, it’s $5).

(I literally visited a high school’s website to remind myself how to source images. Four years of high school/ college done me good.)

Enjoy this new discovery and head on over to Sienna MercaTo (still not over my mistake) for happy hour on all three floors!

Original Post:

It snowed yesterday in Pittsburgh and even if you’re not excited for it, it’s exciting! Winter is quickly approaching BUT before you give me any holiday cheer, you gotta give Thanksgiving all the glory it deserves. Like the Wednesday night before, or more commonly known as the biggest drinking night of the year. And what better way to celebrate it than with happy hour after an early work dismissal?  On a roof, no less!  If you don’t want to give up on those summer rooftop ~vibes~ then Sienna Mercado/ Emporio’s retractable roof will let you have your cake and eat it too.*

If you’re like me, it’s taken you far too long to call this place by it’s real name, affectionately referring to this meatball mecca as “the meatball place.” While its happy hour will draw you in, the delicious balls will you keep you coming back. Double W (haha). Happy hour is from 4-6 PM Monday- Friday, and you can find 1/2 price drafts, $4 app menu (including poutine), and $0.60 buffalo chicken balls (!!!). Exciting stuff here!
The ambiance on the main level is all-in industrial — exposed brick, big wood beams lining the ceiling, metal pipes… you know the type. It’s comfy and cozy, and even the rooftop will keep you warm this fall and winter. Service is great too– you’ll feel taken care of  while your bellies get full and your eyes a little glossy. This is a repeat offender for Burgh B&B, so you know it’s a good. Because we’re trustworthy, just ask us. The beer selection is top-notch, and stocked now are those amazing fall beers that fill the pumpkin spice hole in your heart.
If you’re reading this and thinking, “Wow this place sounds too good to be true!” It’s because there’s a catch. Happy hour isn’t actually available on the roof. Bing, bang, bummer. BUT that shouldn’t stop you from heading to 942 Penn Ave.
*PRO TIP: You can order your drinks on the first floor and head up to the roof. You get the besttttttt of both worlds (*Sings Hannah Montana for the rest of the evening.*)
All in all, Sienna Mercado is a solid choice for happy hour with your boo, bff, or the whole gang. Stop by, and afterwards, tell us what ya think in the comments below!
